New Delhi/Bhuj: India’s armed forces successfully accomplished all objectives of Operation Sindoor, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday, while emphasizing that the fight against cross-border terrorism remains ongoing.
Addressing soldiers at a military base in Gujarat’s Bhuj ahead of a ‘shastra puja’ (worship of weapons) on Dussehra, Singh said Pakistan attempted to breach India’s defence system during the operation but failed. He added that the Indian military “exposed” Pakistan’s air defence network and sent a clear message that it is capable of inflicting significant losses on adversaries.
“During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan tried and failed to penetrate India’s defence system from Leh to Sir Creek,” Singh stated. “In response, our forces fully revealed the weaknesses in Pakistan’s air defence apparatus, demonstrating to the world that Indian forces can strike effectively whenever and wherever necessary.”
Singh highlighted that India exercised restraint, as the military action targeted terrorism rather than escalating into full-scale war. “The aim of Operation Sindoor was not to start a war, but to counter terrorism. I am pleased that our forces have achieved all the operation’s objectives. Yet, our fight against terrorism continues,” he said.
