MUMBAI: Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar believes India’s victories in two Tests against England without Jasprit Bumrah were purely coincidental, stressing that the star pacer’s quality remains “exceptional and unbelievable.”
Bumrah featured in three of the five Tests in the recently concluded series, which ended in a 2-2 draw. He missed two matches—both won by India—as part of a pre-planned workload management strategy.
Tendulkar said India’s wins at Birmingham and The Oval in Bumrah’s absence were a matter of chance and underscored the pacer’s impact, noting his 14 wickets across the three games he played.
