Poonch : Indian Army living up to its ethos of providing safety and security to the people, organised a ‘Medical & Veterinary Camp’ in the remote area of Dupriya & Kalsa, in Poonch District. The camp aimed at providing free medical health check-up and distribution of medicines to the underprivileged and backward classes of the community.
The people residing in these areas usually settles in remote areas inaccessible by roads and face a dearth of proper medical care especially during winters. An outreach program in form of medical & veterinary camp was conducted to extend medical & health care services to these people. In addition to the free medical check-up, medicines for common ailments and seasonal disease were also provided to the people along with basic medicines for their livestock’s. Trained doctors conducted the medical camp to reach out to the needy and aggrieved people in these remote areas. While attending to their ailments, people were also motivated to avail government health schemes.
The gratitude of the populace was visible in eyes of the beneficiaries and blessings of elders. The people of these communities thanked the Indian Army for their endeavour to support the local populace and expressed their gratitude towards the initiative of the Indian Army unit.
