Indian Army Conducted Awareness Lecture on World No Tobacco Day at Samote, Rajouri

Rajouri: Indian Army has been working for the amelioration of the local populace.  The area is free from militancy due to the relentless Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorism Operations by Indian Army. The unit is focused to change the perception of the underprivileged population, which ultimately manifests in sustained peace and prosperity in the region. Indian Army unit at Samote conducted an awareness talk on ‘World No Tobacco Day’ and ‘Drug Abuse’ at H.S.S Samote. World No Tobacco Day is observed around the world every year on 31 May.

This yearly celebration is to inform the public on the dangers of using tobacco and drug abuse, business practices of tobacco companies, efforts of World Health Organization to fight against the use of tobacco, drug abuse and what people around the world can do to claim their right to healthy living. A total of Str 39, students (37 x Boys) and 02 x teachers attended the same.   Teachers and students thanked and expressed their profound gratitude towards the Indian Army for organizing the awareness talk and taking this noble initiative for locals which will create a positive atmosphere between the Indian Army and the locals.
