Poonch: The Indian Army organized an insightful lecture on Women Empowerment and conducted an interaction with ASHA Workers focused on the well-being of women in rural areas at Dehri Masjid School, Haribudha in Poonch District.
The event aimed at raising awareness about various women empowerment schemes available in rural Jammu and Kashmir. The session emphasized that empowering women is essential for building a brighter future. When women are empowered, the entire society progresses, paving the way for development and prosperity. The lecture shed light on multiple government initiatives designed to uplift and empower women, including the National Policy of Education, Mahila Samakhya, the National Commission for Women, Balika Samridhi Yojana, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, the National Programme for Education of Girls at the Elementary Level, the Swayam Sidha Women Empowerment Programme, Mahila Kosh among others. Special emphasis was laid on encouraging women’s participation in the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) through various schemes. The girls and ASHA Workers present expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the Indian Army’s initiative, acknowledging that the awareness generated would have a lasting impact, leading to an improved quality of life and greater opportunities for growth.
