Rajouri: In a significant outreach initiative, the Indian Army conducted interactive sessions with teachers of the Higher Secondary School at Lower Dehri Raylote, Middle School Upper Galuthi and Middle School Upper Dehri Raylote to raise awareness about various educational programs and policies, including the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The session focused on scholarships, promoting more admissions in the upcoming academic year, to maintain regularity in attending classes in remote areas of Rajouri district.

Teachers actively participated, discussing challenges faced in the education sector and exploring ways to enhance learning outcomes using available resources, highlighting key aspects of the NEP 2020, which emphasizes holistic education, vocational training, digital learning, and multilingual instruction to make education more inclusive and skill-oriented.  A key discussion point was the role of technology in education, with the Army encouraging schools to leverage online learning platforms and government-backed initiatives such as SATHEE and SWAYAM portals.

The importance of critical thinking, experiential learning, and reducing the burden of rote memorization, as advocated by the NEP, was also emphasized. Teachers appreciated the Indian Army’s efforts in fostering awareness about these initiatives and expressed their willingness to work towards implementing the recommendations of NEP 2020 for better student engagement and career readiness. The Army reiterated its commitment to supporting rural education through continued collaboration with schools, providing mentorship, and facilitating access to various government schemes. Such interactions not only strengthen the bond between the armed forces and local communities but also ensure that students, regardless of their geographical location, receive quality education and career opportunities. The initiative aligns with the vision of a self-reliant and educated India, reinforcing the Indian Army’s role in nation-building beyond its primary duty of national security.
