Indian Army Conducts Lecture on Women Empowerment at Beharamgala, Poonch

Poonch : A ‘Lecture on Women Empowerment’ was conducted by Indian Army at Behramgala, Poonch for spreading awareness amongst girls and women to enhance their skill for self-employment and better job opportunity in remote parts of Rajouri and Poonch.

The lecture was addressed to local populace about employment campaign/ various initiatives for employment by State and Central Government. A total strength of 43 (18 Women, 15 Girls and 10 Gents) attended the event.

The aim of the event was to interact & educate girls, women and local populace about the various educational and scholarship schemes of Central Government/ State Government to address the problems of unemployment in our country. Representative of Indian Army addressed local residents and gave an insight on various initiatives of the Government and actions being taken to slowly decrease the level of unemployment. Various initiatives have been launched to boost employment including skill development programmes, job fair and entrepreneurship with the Government schemes like Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP), Drought Prone Area Programme (DPAP), Nehru Rozgar Yojana (NRY) and Prime Minister’s Integrated Urban Poverty Eradication Programme (PMIUPEP).

This gesture and effort by Indian Army was highly appreciated by local populace.  This endeavor by Indian Army to reach out to the population residing in remote areas, where civil administration has limited accessibility, will go a long way in developing and strengthening trust between Indian Army and Awam. It showcased Indian Army’s commitment towards service to the nation.
