Rajouri :Indian Army successfully conducted Medical & Veterinary Camp at Fafda, Sial Sui of Rajouri as part of the ongoing efforts to support Gujjar & Bakkarwals and promote the welfare of livestock in the region.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation & subscription of approximately 115 Gujjar and Bakkarwals who brought more than 150 animals to the Camp. Comprehensive veterinary care including medical check-ups, vaccinations, deworming and treatment for common diseases affecting the livestock was provided. Doctors of Indian Army along with two civil veterinary Doctors three assistants of Animal Husbandry department of J&K Government ensured that the animals received the best possible care.
The Medical Camp also provided on-the-spot medical care & check-ups for the local residents, who are often cut off from mainstream healthcare facilities due to their isolated geographic location. As part of the medical care, basic health check-ups, treatment of common ailments and distribution of necessary medicines was ensured. In addition, the local residents were also educated on sustainable livestock management practices, disease prevention and nutritional care to enhance the productivity and the health of their animals.
The communities conveyed their immense gratitude to the Indian Army for conducting this quintessential camp to aid them in providing medical facilities to the cattle and livestock as the area is devoid of such facilities & impinging on the health of their bread earning means. Beyond the immediate medical benefits, the Medical & Veterinary Camp played a crucial role in building and strengthening the relationship between the Indian Army, civil administration and the local communities.
