Rajouri: In a bid to promote education and empower youth in remote border areas, the Indian Army celebrated National Education Day at Tender Feet School, Keri, in Rajouri district.

The event marked the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister, whose vision shaped the foundation of the nation’s modern education system. The celebration emphasized the transformative role of education in building lives and driving development, especially in far-flung and border regions.

In collaboration with local teachers and education volunteers, the Army organized various engaging activities for students, including a cultural programme featuring skits, poem recitations, and patriotic dances. Army personnel encouraged students to pursue their studies with dedication and resilience, despite the challenges of living in remote areas.

The initiative also aimed to promote national integration, unity, and collective progress through education. A total of 284 students and 11 teachers participated enthusiastically in the event.
