Indian Army Organised Interaction with Gujjar & Bakarwals Community at Mendhar, Poonch

Poonch : In an effort to foster stronger bonds with the Gujjar & Bakarwal community and ensure the safety and well-being of all, an interactive session was organised with 73 individuals from the community. The meeting highlighted the prevailing situation in the region and encouraged open Communication between Indian Army and the local population.

During the interaction, discussion on aspects of the Gujjar & Bakarwal seasonal movement plan for grazing their livestock, scheduled month of movement, the induction and de-induction routes & arrangement for their stay in dhoks (temporary shelters) was carried out.

The community members were also sensitized to the importance of vigilance in the region. The meeting is instrumental in providing a robust platform for the locals to candidly discuss their day to day issues. The focus was primarily on recent Security situation and administrative challenges that have been impeding progress and development.
