Rajouri: A Veterinary Aid camp was Organised at Vill Rani, Distt Rajouri under the aegis of Indian Army on 9 Mar 2025. The camp was attended by Col B Rajakumar, Officer Commanding, 30 Army Dog Unit along with two Nursing Assistant Veterinary from 1 Advance Field Veterinary Hospital (AFVH). The veterinary camp was set up at Rani Vill to address the pressing needs of the region’s rural farming communities, where animals are crucial assets for sustenance and livelihood. Rani village is geographically isolated and has limited access to veterinary services, many of these animals suffer from untreated illnesses and injuries.
As a part of Op Sadbhavana, the Indian Army organizes Veterinary Camps in a significant display of humanitarian efforts aimed at providing essential medical care to animals in remote and underserved areas. The initiative, held as part of the Army’s continuous outreach to rural communities, focuses on the welfare of livestock, which plays a vital role in the livelihoods of the local population. 149 livestock owners brought their livestock and the animals were examined for common diseases and conditions, such as infections, malnutrition, and skin ailments, and were treated/advised accordingly. 297 x Cattle, 314 x Buffalo, 1245 x Sheep, 1487 x Goat, 201 x Canine, 01 x Feline, 60 x Poultry and 40 x Equines were treated/ provided with supplements/ deworming during the Veterinary Camp. The veterinary aid camp had a significant positive impact as they eagerly came in numbers. Local farmers and herders expressed immense gratitude for the timely and efficient healthcare services provided by the Indian Army.
For many, this was the first time their animals had received such professional attention, preventing potential long-term health problems that could otherwise devastate their livelihoods.
