Poonch:In a continued effort to honour the service of its veterans, the Indian Army’s elite counter-insurgency formation organized a dedicated Ex-Servicemen (ESM) interaction at Chhatral. The event was attended by 32 Ex-Servicemen, reinforcing the enduring bond between the serving troops and their retired comrades. The initiative is part of perception management programs aimed at enhancing the welfare and integration with Ex-Servicemen. By focusing on carrier opportunities, welfare schemes, and community engagement, the Indian Army seeks to ensure that veterans continue to receive help and support they have earned. Employment and resettlement support remain a cornerstone of the initiative. Veterans were guided on avenues to utilize their vast experience and skills in various sectors, helping them secure meaningful post-retirement roles.

Equally emphasized was the facilitation of pension and welfare benefits. Dedicated help desks and liaison teams are actively working to simplify the process of accessing pensions, ECHS healthcare, and financial support ensuring that the needs of veterans and their families are met with efficiency and care. In addition to these services, the meet also served as a community-building platform. Through informal discussions, welfare updates, and feedback sessions, the event fostered a sense of camaraderie and reaffirmed the commitment of the Indian Army to stand beside its veterans. Indian Army remains steadfast in its mission not just in safeguarding the nation, but in upholding the dignity and welfare of those who once wore the uniform with pride.
