Indian Army Organized Lecture on Awareness for World Aids Day at Parat, Rajouri

Rajouri: The Indian Army marked World AIDS Day with an awareness campaign at Government High School, Massoite emphasising the global theme of “Ending the HIV Epidemic: Equitable Access, Everyone’s Voice”.

The event aimed to address the unique challenges faced by the local communities regarding AIDS, including stigma, limited healthcare access in remote areas and lack of awareness. The region’s rugged terrain often hinders timely testing, diagnosis and treatment. Indian Army has been organising Mobile Medical Patrols and medical camps in collaboration with state government to educate individuals and communities about HIV transmission, prevention, treatment and the importance of early testing. Indian Army is giving free counselling sessions in these remote villages. In the ongoing efforts, Indian Army organised this event to raise awareness and combat the spread of AIDS.

The attendees paid keen interest to the speech given by the Indian Army. Special emphasis is placed by Indian Army to reach these communities in far flung areas. The day serves as a reminder that AIDS is not just a health crisis but also a social challenge that demands cooperation and understanding. The initiative was well received with teachers and students expressing gratitude for the Indian Army’s efforts to address both health and social challenges in the region. The Indian Army reaffirmed its dedication to fostering a healthier and more informed society. A total of 03 teachers and 59 students attended the event.
