Poonch:The Indian Army successfully organized an Awam Meet at Nar village to engage with the local populace and strengthen cooperation in the face of regional security challenges. This community engagement initiative provided a platform for the Army to connect with the villagers, address concerns and reinforce collective efforts toward maintaining peace and security in the region.
During the meet, discussions centred around the need for increased vigilance, particularly in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, with specific emphasis on the importance of adhering to movement restrictions post last light. The Army also addressed the implications of the ongoing Makki season and its impact on the region’s security dynamics. Additionally, the challenges posed by the region’s inclement weather were discussed, especially concerning the accessibility and movement of security forces.
The meeting highlighted concerns about the rising drug use among local youth and the increasing trend of unauthorized movement into forested areas, which could pose potential security risks. The delay in reporting suspicious activity was also raised as a significant challenge, with the Army urging the community to remain alert and collaborate actively in identifying and addressing security threats. This Awam Meet underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to fostering closer ties with local communities while tackling regional security.
