Poonch: In a continued effort to foster goodwill and extend humanitarian assistance, the Indian Army organized a comprehensive Medical Outreach Camp for the residents of Sanai, a remote and underserved area in Surankote.
This initiative was conducted under Operation Sadbhavana, reflecting the Army’s unwavering commitment to nation-building and civil-military cooperation. The camp saw enthusiastic participation from over 600 civilians, including elderly citizens, women and children. A dedicated team comprising Army medical officers, the Medical Officer of SDH Surankote, the BMO Surankote, paramedics and support staff provided free medical consultations, diagnostic services and essential medicines to the attendees. Specialized care was made available in areas such as general medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics and gynecology, addressing the vital healthcare needs of the community.
The outreach served as a critical support mechanism for residents in a region where access to regular medical infrastructure is limited by both terrain and climatic challenges. This proactive healthcare initiative not only showcased the Indian Army’s people-centric approach but also strengthened the bond of trust and cooperation with the local population.
The camp served as a lifeline for many, reaffirming the Army’s role as a pillar of support in remote and difficult-to-reach areas. Local residents expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Army’s continuous efforts towards their well-being. Such initiatives play a pivotal role in enhancing peace, development, and mutual respect, reinforcing the Army’s enduring presence as a force for good. The Indian Army remains resolute in its mission to support the people of Sanai, Surankote and will continue to conduct such outreach programs to uplift and empower remote communities.
