Doda :The Indian Army at Doda distributed cold climate amenities to the Gujjars and Bakarwals at Lal Dharman.
As an initiative to enhance the quality of life of Gujjars and Bakarwals, blankets were distributed to the Gujjars and Bakarwals community, who are from the economically weaker section. The cold climate amenities were distributed to support the Gujjars and Bakarwals community belonging to remote & high-altitude areas, to prepare them for coming winters. The initiative was aimed at providing relief to the marginalized communities living in the inaccessible regions of the district, where the harsh winter conditions can be unbearable for those who do not have access to basic amenities.
The Indian Army has been working tirelessly to provide essential services and support to the local communities in this region and distribution of cold climate amenities was yet another step towards the commitment for the welfare of the people.
This initiative will help to foster a positive relationship between the Indian Army and local communities. The people of the area were overwhelmed with gratitude for the Indian Army for their selfless service, which came as a ray of hope for the Gujjars and Bakarwals struggling to cope with the freezing temperatures. Overall, the event was a great success, and it has inspired the locals to work together with the army to bring positive change in their community.
