Jammu, Dec 02: Northern Army Commander Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi has underscored the unwavering resolve of Indian Army troops to keep Jammu and Kashmir free from terror, reaffirming the military’s commitment to safeguarding peace and stability in the region. He was addressing officers and soldiers during a review of operational preparedness along the Line of Control.
Lt. Gen. Dwivedi praised the dedication of the troops, noting that their vigilance and sacrifice have been instrumental in countering infiltration attempts and maintaining security. “Our men and women in uniform remain steadfast in their mission. We will not allow terrorism to disrupt the lives of our citizens,” he said.
Senior officers accompanying the Commander highlighted that recent operations have successfully neutralized threats and prevented cross-border infiltration. They emphasized that the Army’s proactive measures, combined with intelligence inputs, continue to strengthen the security grid in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lt. Gen. Dwivedi also interacted with local commanders, encouraging them to maintain high morale and readiness. He reiterated that the Army’s focus is not only on eliminating terror networks but also on supporting civil authorities in fostering peace and development in the region.
Officials confirmed that the Northern Command remains fully prepared to respond to any emerging challenges. The Commander’s remarks come at a time when security forces are intensifying operations to ensure that Jammu and Kashmir remains secure and free from the shadow of terrorism.
