Adobe Security Alert: Critical Risk Affects Popular Software Used by Businesses and Individuals

Adobe users have been issued an urgent security warning concerning several widely used applications such as InDesign, After Effects, Illustrator, and more. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has flagged multiple critical vulnerabilities in Adobe products that pose a serious threat to both business and personal users.

What the Warning Says

In its advisory dated July 15, 2025, CERT-In states that “multiple vulnerabilities exist in Adobe products due to memory corruption, improper authorization, and other issues.” These flaws could allow attackers to bypass security restrictions, steal data, execute malicious code remotely, or even crash affected systems.

The advisory highlights that system administrators, security teams, and end-users of Adobe’s creative software are the most likely targets.

Affected Adobe Software Versions

The vulnerabilities impact several Adobe applications across Windows and macOS platforms. Here’s the list of affected versions:

  • Adobe After Effects: Versions before 24.6.7 and 25.3
  • Adobe Substance 3D Viewer: Versions before 0.25
  • Adobe Audition: Versions before 24.6.7 (Audition 24) and 25.3 (Audition 25)
  • Adobe InCopy: Versions before 20.4 (InCopy 20) and 19.5.4 (InCopy 19)

  • Adobe Illustrator: Versions before 29.6 (2025) and 28.7.8 (2024)
  • Adobe FrameMaker: 2020 versions before Update 9, and 2022 versions before Update 7
  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM):
    • Forms on JEE: Versions before 6.5.0.0.20250527.0
    • Screens 6.5.22: Versions before FP11.6
  • Adobe ColdFusion:
    • 2025 versions before Update 3
    • 2023 versions before Update 15
    • 2021 versions before Update 21

What You Should Do

If you’re using any of the listed Adobe applications, it’s critical to update them immediately. CERT-In strongly advises applying the latest patches provided by Adobe to mitigate the security risks. These updates address issues ranging from critical to moderate in severity, which, if left unpatched, could enable attackers to exploit your system.

Adobe has already released security updates to fix these vulnerabilities. Users are encouraged to visit the official Adobe Security Bulletins page to download the latest patches relevant to their software versions.
