New Delhi: India’s young shooter Suruchi Singh has risen to World No. 1 in the women’s 10m air pistol rankings, according to the latest list released by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).
The 19-year-old, who made her senior international debut earlier this year, has accumulated 4,162 points to claim the top spot, as reported by Olympics.com. Former junior world champion Yao Qianxun of China ranks second with 3,195 points, while compatriot Wei Qian is third with 2,178 points.
Suruchi Singh, in blazing form this year, recently won two bronze medals in the 10m air pistol mixed and women’s team events at the 2025 Asian Shooting Championship. She also claimed individual gold in all three ISSF World Cups this year—Munich, Lima, and Buenos Aires—and topped the mixed team 10m air pistol event at Lima, marking a breakthrough season on the senior circuit.
Two-time Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker, who secured the 10m air pistol individual bronze at the Asian Shooting Championship 2025, is ranked sixth in the category with 1,988 points. In the 25m air pistol rankings, Bhaker sits fourth with 1,800 points, ahead of compatriot Esha Singh in sixth place with 1,512 points.
In the 50m rifle 3 positions category, Olympian Sift Kaur Samra, who won gold at the recent Asian Shooting Championships, has climbed to second with 3,034 points, while Ashi Chouksey is in 10th place with 1,277 points. Norway’s two-time Olympian Jeanette Hegg Duestad tops the women’s 50m rifle 3 rankings with 3,320 points.
