CM Omar Abdullah Holds Talks with Indo-Australian Delegation on CSR Initiatives for J&K
Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today met with an Indo-Australian delegation led by Sajid Saiyed, Chairperson and Founder of the Bharat CSR Network and Circular Economy Alliance Australia (CEAA), to explore Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects aimed at promoting sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation proposed a series of initiatives focused on community empowerment and environmental sustainability, including the creation of Smart Villages, establishment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs, implementation of Waste-to-Wealth programs, water remediation projects, construction of community centres, and rehabilitation support for flood-affected communities.


Welcoming the proposals, the Chief Minister praised the delegation’s commitment to inclusive development and highlighted sports, skill development, and greenfield projects as priority areas for collaboration. He encouraged the team to submit detailed plans, particularly for initiatives such as building libraries, upgrading schools, and introducing sustainability measures in educational institutions.
Omar Abdullah assured the delegation of the government’s full support, emphasizing that such partnerships are vital for driving long-term socio-economic growth in the region.
