JAKARTA: A magnitude-6 earthquake struck Indonesia’s Sulawesi island on Sunday, leaving 41 people injured, including two in critical condition, the Central Sulawesi Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said.
“Of the 41 injured, nine sustained serious injuries, two are in critical condition, and 32 suffered minor injuries,” BPBD head Akris Fattah Yunus told news agency ANTARA.
Authorities confirmed there was no tsunami warning issued after the quake.
Indonesia, an archipelago situated along the Pacific Ring of Fire, frequently experiences earthquakes due to intense tectonic activity in the region.
