SRINAGAR: Infiltration attempts by terrorists from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir have been thwarted due to the heightened alertness of security forces and the deployment of advanced surveillance equipment along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, a senior Border Security Force (BSF) officer said on Wednesday.

Inspector General of BSF (Kashmir Frontier) Ashok Yadav said intelligence inputs suggest that terrorists continue to wait at launch pads across the LoC, seeking opportunities to infiltrate.

Responding to questions about the situation along the LoC following Operation Sindoor, Yadav told reporters, “The BSF and the Army have ensured complete domination along the LoC through constant vigilance and use of modern surveillance gadgets, which has prevented any infiltration attempts from succeeding.”

“With winter about two months away, terrorists may continue their attempts, but due to our area domination and preparedness, we will detect and neutralize any such move,” he added.

On the number of terrorists stationed at launch pads, Yadav said the figures fluctuate regularly. “All the terrorists at these launch pads are foreigners. Based on intelligence inputs and analysis, it is generally observed that around 100 to 120 terrorists are present at any given time,” he said.

Commenting on reports of Lashkar-e-Toiba’s links with the Islamic State, Yadav said the development is being closely monitored by intelligence agencies. “All such inputs are jointly analyzed by the security forces, and operational strategies are planned accordingly. We are aware of these activities and have taken appropriate countermeasures,” he noted.
