RDI Fund to Boost Private Sector Innovation: Minister Dr Jitendra Singh

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund will play a key role in strengthening private sector participation in cutting‑edge research and technology development. He noted that the initiative is designed to encourage industry-led innovation and accelerate India’s progress in emerging sectors.

Dr Singh highlighted that the RDI Fund aims to bridge gaps between research institutions, startups and industry by supporting collaborative projects with high potential for commercialisation. He said the government is committed to creating an ecosystem where private enterprises can contribute more effectively to national R&D priorities.

The Minister added that the fund will help drive advancements in areas such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, clean energy, space technologies and advanced manufacturing. He emphasised that sustained investment in innovation is essential for India to remain competitive in the global technology landscape.

Dr Singh reiterated that the government’s focus on promoting research and innovation aligns with the broader vision of building a self-reliant and future-ready India, with the private sector playing a central role in shaping the country’s technological capabilities.
