One Drug Sale Establishment Suspended, Another Show-Caused in Kulgam
KULGAM: To ensure proper compliance with the maintenance of drug sale and purchase records, authorities conducted an inspection of various retail and wholesale drug sale establishments in Kulgam town today, focusing particularly on records of Schedule H and H1 drugs.
Around 15 establishments were inspected. One medical store was found violating license conditions due to the absence of a qualified person and a non-functional CBS system. Its operations were immediately suspended under Section 22(d) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, until compliance is ensured. Another medical store near the District Hospital was issued a show-cause notice.
Several drug samples were also collected for testing and analysis to ensure that only quality medicines reach the public.
In addition, a meeting with courier service providers at Chawalgam was held to sensitize them on reporting suspicious parcels and random medicine consignments.
These intensive drives by Drug Control officials aim to guarantee that quality medicines reach patients without any malpractice or illegal sale.
