Srinagar: A day after a car explosion in Delhi, police on Tuesday intensified vehicle checking across the Kashmir Valley.

According to a police spokesperson, thorough inspections were conducted along national highways and key arterial roads in Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam, Baramulla, Ganderbal, and Shopian districts.

Temporary checkpoints were set up at strategic points to monitor the movement of suspicious individuals and vehicles, the spokesperson added.

Several vehicles were seized for lacking valid documents during the operation.

The security measures follow Monday evening’s car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, which claimed twelve lives.
