Poonch: The Romeo Force, Indian Army organized an interaction and ESM Meet with Zila Sainik Welfare Officer at Daraba, Poonch. All the Veterans of Surankote and neighboring areas gathered at Battalion headquarters Draba.
The Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO), conducted an interactive session with the ex-servicemen community. The primary object of the visit was to address the concerns of veterans, provide updates on welfare schemes and ensure the continued engagement of the veteran’s community in various developmental and social initiatives.
The session was attended by a large number of veterans and their families. The ZSWO initiated the interaction by acknowledging the invaluable contribution of the veterans to the nation and reaffirming the commitment of the welfare office towards their well-being. Key points discussed during the interaction included pension and financial support, health and medical facilities, employment and resettlement, documentation support and welfare scheme & financial grants.
The session concluded with an open forum discussion, where the veterans voiced their individual issues, which were noted for prompt follow-up. The ZSWO assured regular outreach activities and encouraged veterans to remain connected with the welfare office. The interaction reinforced the bond between the Sainik Welfare Department and the veteran community, underlining mutual respect and ongoing support.
