JAMMU,: Govt. College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu, hosted an electrifying Intra-College Tug-of-War Competition in its premises, bringing together 14 teams, including 2 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams, for an exciting showcase of strength and teamwork. The event witnessed active participation from B.Ed., M.Ed., and Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. students, with a total of 140 participants displaying immense enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Principal of the College, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, who delivered an inspiring welcome address, encouraging students to actively participate in sports and utilize their energy in constructive pursuits. The Guest of Honour, Prof. Satish Sharma, also graced the occasion and appreciated the initiative.
The competition was meticulously organized by the student of Department of Physical Education, GCOE, Jammu, under the guidance of Prof. Ramandeep Kralia, Physical Director of the College. Prof. Kralia commended the students for their dedication and enthusiasm in organizing and executing the event seamlessly.
In the Women’s category, the finals witnessed a spirited contest between Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. Women’s Team and B.Ed. Group B, with the Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. Team emerging victorious, clinching the title with a score of 2-1.
In the Men’s category, the GCOE Boys Team showcased their prowess, defeating the Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. Boys Team with a score of 2-1 to claim the top spot.
The winning and runner-up teams were felicitated with gold and silver medals, respectively, and all participants were provided with refreshments. The event was graced by the presence of faculty members from various departments, including Prof. Sunanda Rani, Dr. Rajinder Kour, Prof. Anuradha, Dr. Sushma Bala, Dr. Shalika Gupta, Dr. Davinder Kour, Prof. Balwan Singh, Dr. Shalini Rana, Dr. Rakesh Bharti, Prof. Kiran Thapa, Prof. Sarita Dogra, Dr. Ambica, and Dr. Sonam Gandotra, who added to the event’s grandeur with their support and encouragement.
