iPhone Air Sparks Memes And Criticism Over Slim Design, Single Camera

Apple has once again stirred online chatter with the launch of the iPhone Air, its slimmest smartphone to date. Designed by Bangladeshi innovator Abidur Chowdhury, the device is just 5.6mm thick and boasts pro-level performance in an ultra-light form. But what’s really making headlines is its single rear camera — a departure from Apple’s usual multi-lens setup.

The 48MP Fusion Main Camera is built to deliver sharp, detailed images without extra lenses, while the 18MP Centre Stage front camera keeps users framed perfectly on video calls and promises clearer selfies. Despite the tech upgrades, the design itself has divided opinion.

On social media, many users praised the minimalist look, but others mocked it for resembling Oppo and Google Pixel phones. One viral comment summed it up: “iPhone hai ya Oppo?” Critics argue Apple is straying from its trademark identity, trading innovation for simplicity.

Apple, however, has equipped the iPhone Air with new durability features. The device introduces Ceramic Shield 2 on both the front and back for better scratch and crack resistance, paired with a titanium frame for added strength against drops and bending.

Under the hood, the iPhone Air houses a larger battery, restructured to fit into the slim body. Its latest chip and iOS 26’s Adaptive Power Mode work together to optimise energy use, learning user habits to stretch battery life even further.
