MUMBAI, Nov 29: Nita M Ambani, owner of the Mumbai Indians IPL franchise, said that the team’s primary strategy for the upcoming season was to retain as many players as possible from their previous winning squad. She explained that continuity was key to sustaining team performance and ensuring players could build on the success of earlier campaigns.
“Our strategy was to bring back as many players as possible from our winning team,” Ambani said, highlighting the importance of familiarity, experience, and team chemistry. She noted that the management carefully balanced retaining seasoned players with integrating emerging talent, aiming to create a team that is both stable and forward-looking.
Ambani added that preserving the core squad allows players to adapt more efficiently to challenges during the season and provides opportunities for mentorship between experienced members and younger recruits. She emphasized that this approach aligns with the franchise’s long-term vision of sustained success and competitiveness in the Indian Premier League.
With the retention of key players, Mumbai Indians hope to build momentum early in the season and set a benchmark for teamwork, resilience, and strategy, continuing their legacy in the tournament while fostering the development of the next generation of cricketing talent.
