Secretary ITD Reviews Progress of Projects under Capex Budget 2025-26
JAMMU: Secretary, Information Technology Department (ITD), Dr. Piyush Singla, today chaired a meeting at the Civil Secretariat to review the physical and financial progress of various departmental projects being implemented under the Capex Budget 2025–26.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer, JKEGA; Special Secretary, ITD; Director Finance, ITD; Additional Secretary, ITD; Deputy Director (Planning), ITD; Head SeMT J&K; Incharge IT Cell; and other officers, both in person and through virtual mode.
Comprehensive discussions were held on the current status of ongoing projects under the Capex Budget 2025–26, as well as the proposed projects for the upcoming financial year. The review also covered key initiatives such as the establishment of a Centre of Excellence, IT skill upgradation, new e-governance interventions across the UT, digitalization of office records, and the development of IT Hubs/Parks at Jammu and Srinagar.
Dr. Singla stressed the need to remove all bottlenecks to ensure timely completion of ongoing projects. He directed the concerned officers to expedite the preparation of DPRs and resolve pending issues to facilitate smooth and time-bound execution of works.
During the meeting, Director Finance and other officers made a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the physical and financial status of ongoing and new projects. The Secretary was apprised of the progress in initiatives such as the upgradation of the State Data Centre, establishment of a wired LAN at Civil Secretariat Jammu, provisioning of a dedicated 2 Gbps Internet lease line for the Secretariats at Jammu and Srinagar, and the setup of MPLS for e-office operations.
