JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Food Safety Department seized 21 quintals of adulterated cheese and a significant quantity of expired mustard oil from an unlicensed godown on the outskirts of Jammu city on Saturday, officials said.
The raid in the Gangyal area follows directives from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to strengthen inspections and ensure all food products comply with quality and safety standards, the official added.
Acting on a tip-off, authorities conducted the operation at the unregistered facility, recovering 2,100 kg of adulterated cheese along with 78 tins of expired mustard oil.
