Jammu DC Dr Rakesh Minhas Reviews Post-Rainfall Restoration Efforts

JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, conducted an on-site inspection of Jammu city to assess ongoing restoration efforts following heavy rainfall.

During the tour, he visited Circular Road, the Sitlee Water Supply Station, and the 4th Tawi Bridge. At the Sitlee Filtration Plant, Dr. Minhas reviewed the progress of repairs, including the restoration of the rising main and associated works. He instructed the concerned officers to expedite restoration to ensure the timely resumption of normal water supply to affected areas. SE PHE Sunil Gandotra provided a detailed briefing on the current status of the works.

The Deputy Commissioner also held a meeting with SSP Joginder Singh, SSP Traffic Farooq Qaiser, ADDC Sher Singh, and officials from NHAI, NHIDCL, and other relevant departments to discuss the situation at the 4th Tawi Bridge, which sustained damage due to the rising Tawi River. The discussion focused on traffic management, public safety, ongoing rainfall conditions, and potential challenges.

Assistant Commissioner Anmol Rathore accompanied Dr. Minhas during the inspection tour.
