JAMMU: As part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard public land and enforce building regulations, the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) recently conducted an anti-encroachment drive at Rajpur Kouler and took action against unauthorized commercial structures in Bari Brahmana and Jammu South.
During the operation at Rajpur Kouler, the JDA demolished an under-construction illegal structure that was encroaching on prime JDA land, identified under Kh. No. 65 of Village Rajpur Kouler, Tehsil Bari Brahmana, District Samba.
Simultaneously, in Bari Brahmana and selected areas of Jammu South, JDA enforcement teams sealed several commercial establishments found violating building bye-laws and land-use regulations. These actions were carried out after serving due notice to the violators and in compliance with the Jammu and Kashmir Control of Building Operations Act.

Such initiatives form part of a broader effort to uphold the rule of law, prevent unauthorized construction, and protect public assets. The JDA reaffirmed its commitment to planned urban development and warned that strict action will continue against encroachments and illegal constructions.
The Authority urged residents and stakeholders to cooperate fully and comply with the legal framework governing land use and construction. Citizens are also encouraged to report any instances of illegal encroachments to the relevant authorities.
