Jammu District Administration approves ₹1.07 crore relief for families hit by floods

JAMMU: In a decisive move to support families hit by recent floods and landslides, the District Administration Jammu has approved relief for 231 cases of house damage, sanctioning a total of ₹1.07 crore.

The decision was taken during a District Level Committee meeting chaired by Sher Singh, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Jammu, with ACR Dr. Rajesh Kumar, SDMs, and other committee members in attendance.

Acting on the committee’s recommendations, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, sanctioned the relief amount, which has been directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to ensure speed, transparency, and accountability.

This initiative highlights the administration’s commitment to providing timely assistance without bureaucratic delays or intermediaries.

Meanwhile, the District Administration continues to evaluate further damages and extend relief under the prescribed norms. Restoration and rehabilitation efforts are also underway in coordination with concerned departments to bring normalcy back to the affected areas.
