ammu Rail Division Earns Rs 7.8 Crore from Vande Bharat Train Display Board Auctions
NEW DELHI: Over the past five years, the Jammu Rail Division has generated Rs 7.8 crore by auctioning digital display boards installed on four Vande Bharat trains, which collectively make eight daily trips on routes including Delhi-Katra, Amritsar-Katra, and Katra-Srinagar.
The digital display boards in Vande Bharat coaches provide passengers with real-time information such as train speed, upcoming stations, and other travel updates.
“A policy was introduced to run commercial advertisements alongside passenger-centric information to enhance the travel experience while generating non-fare revenue for the railways. The auction of digital display boards on these Vande Bharat trains was carried out under this policy, combining improved passenger engagement with revenue generation,” said an official from Northern Railway.
