Jammu: The Indian Army’s Aviation Corps successfully rescued 27 security personnel trapped by severe flooding caused by the Chenab River in Jammu district’s border area on Thursday, officials reported.

The White Knight Corps launched the operation in the Jourian sector of Akhnoor after a camp was submerged by rising floodwaters.

Despite adverse weather and challenging conditions, the Army conducted 17 helicopter sorties over 10 hours to airlift all stranded personnel safely, officials added.
