Jammu: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has directed all heads of institutions to ensure schools are ready for reopening and to take suitable decisions on the resumption of offline classes from September 10.
Schools in the region have been closed for the past 11 days following heavy rains, flash floods, and landslides since August 26, which caused widespread damage.
In its latest order, the Directorate instructed heads of institutions and staff to report for duty on Monday and conduct a thorough safety and security audit of school buildings. Based on this assessment, they have been asked to decide on the safe resumption of classes from September 10.
The order further states that chief education officers will oversee daily activities and submit detailed reports to the Directorate. It emphasizes that all officials must ensure timely compliance with the directions “in letter and spirit.”
