A high-level meeting chaired by the Lieutenant Governor (LG) is currently underway in Jammu to review the overall security situation, assess winter preparedness, and evaluate ongoing anti-terror operations across the region. The LG convened the meeting to ensure that all security, intelligence, and civil administration agencies remain in a state of coordinated readiness as Jammu enters the challenging winter period.
During the meeting, senior officials from the Police, Army, CAPFs, and civil administration are presenting detailed briefings on recent security developments, emerging threats, and the progress of anti-terror operations. The LG emphasised the need for strengthened vigilance, enhanced surveillance grids, and efficient coordination among agencies to safeguard public safety.
The LG also reviewed winter preparedness measures, including road connectivity plans, availability of essential supplies, snow clearance machinery, and emergency response systems, particularly for remote and border areas that face severe weather-related disruptions.
Directives are being issued to ensure uninterrupted public services, protection of vital installations, and timely logistical support for security forces operating in sensitive zones. The LG stressed the importance of a proactive and people-centric approach while maintaining a robust security environment.
The meeting is expected to conclude with actionable instructions to all departments, reinforcing both security readiness and winter resilience across the Jammu division. Additional updates may follow after the final briefing.
