Jammu: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44) remained closed for the fifth consecutive day on Saturday due to continuous heavy rains and mudslides at several stretches.

Officials said the road is blocked at multiple locations, with a major mudslide reported at Samruli. Traffic on both sides of the highway has been completely suspended, and no movement is possible today.

Restoration work is underway, but persistent mudslides and adverse weather conditions are slowing down clearance efforts, they added.
