Srinagar: The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway, which had been closed for over a week due to massive landslides at Thard in Udhampur district, was partially reopened for traffic on Wednesday, officials said.

According to an official, light motor vehicles (LMVs) were allowed to travel from 9:20 AM, providing partial relief to stranded commuters. However, the movement of heavy vehicles will remain suspended until restoration work is fully completed.

Authorities added that clearance and stabilization efforts are ongoing on a war footing to ensure the safe resumption of full traffic flow.
