Jammu: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, on Sunday reviewed the security arrangements for the upcoming Nagrota Assembly by-election and directed officers to remain vigilant and ensure smooth conduct of polling on November 11.
The SSP said comprehensive security measures have been implemented to maintain peace and law and order during the bypoll. He chaired a detailed briefing session for police and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel assigned to election duties, instructing them to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and conduct intensive security checks at sensitive locations.
Singh urged the personnel to familiarise themselves with their respective areas and remain fully prepared to tackle any law and order situation that may arise during the electoral process. He also underlined the need for a strong and visible security presence to deter any disruptive elements, boost public confidence, and encourage voter turnout.
The SSP further directed all officers to visit polling stations, coordinate closely with election staff, and ensure that all personnel are properly briefed on their duties and responsibilities.
