MENDHAR: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today inspected the under-construction Synthetic Athletic Track at Batidhar, Mendhar, a flagship infrastructure project estimated at ₹600 lakh.
During the visit, officials informed the Minister that approximately 40% of the construction work has been completed. Expressing satisfaction with the progress, he stressed the importance of accelerating the remaining work while maintaining high-quality standards.


In a significant development, the Minister also announced the initiation of additional supporting infrastructure at the site. This includes the construction of change rooms, spectator seating tiers, and protective works, approved at an extra cost of ₹200 lakh. These upgrades aim to enhance the facility’s overall utility and readiness to host athletic events.
Highlighting the Omar Abdullah Government’s commitment to promoting sports in border and remote areas, the Minister said the project will provide improved infrastructure and meaningful opportunities for the youth of Mendhar and neighboring regions.
