Meet Organised to Expand National Marketing Opportunities for J&K Farmers
Kolkata: Javid Ahmad Dar, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperative, and Election Departments, today participated in the Buyer-Seller Meet held in Kolkata.
Organised by the Department of Horticulture Planning & Marketing, J&K, the event aimed to provide farmers with a platform to access national-level marketing opportunities and promote the growth of Jammu and Kashmir’s agriculture and horticulture sectors.
The meet facilitated direct interaction between farmers from J&K and buyers from Kolkata, along with officials from the Government of West Bengal and other key stakeholders. It offered an opportunity to showcase J&K’s agricultural and horticultural produce on a national scale, enhancing market reach for local farmers.
The primary objective of the event was to bridge the gap between producers and buyers, encourage direct marketing, boost farmers’ incomes, and strengthen the region’s agriculture and horticulture industries, contributing to the overall economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Around 300 stakeholders, including farmers, buyers, and government officials, participated in the event.
