New Delhi: As the countdown begins for the inaugural Women’s T20 World Cup – Cricket for the Blind 2025, newly crowned Women’s ODI World Cup champion Jemimah Rodrigues has shared a heartfelt message of encouragement for Team India’s visually impaired women cricketers.
In her signature upbeat tone, Jemimah said,
“Wishing you all the very best for the World Cup. I’m cheering for you just like you cheered for us. Bring the World Cup home — and then we’ll celebrate together!”
Her warm words have deeply resonated with fans and players alike, coming close on the heels of India’s historic triumph at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Jemimah’s gesture highlights the unity, respect, and shared pride that bind India’s mainstream women cricketers with their counterparts in Cricket for the Blind — all driven by the same passion and perseverance to make the nation proud.
Organised by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) in collaboration with the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, the 1st Women’s T20 World Cup – Cricket for the Blind 2025 will commence on November 11 at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi.
A total of six teams — Australia, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the United States of America, and host India — will compete in this landmark global event. Team USA has already arrived in India, while the remaining teams are expected by November 10, ahead of the grand opening ceremony.
The tournament marks a historic milestone for inclusive cricket, celebrating the courage, skill, and determination of Team India’s visually impaired women — athletes who continue to break barriers and redefine the spirit of the game.
