J&K CM Seeks Minority Recognition for SMVDIME

Srinagar, Nov 26: Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has urged the government to grant minority status to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Education and Research (SMVDIME). He emphasized that recognizing the institute as a minority establishment would help preserve its unique cultural and educational identity.

CM Omar highlighted SMVDIME’s contributions in providing quality medical education and healthcare services in the region. He stressed that minority status would ensure continued growth, institutional autonomy, and support for its students and staff.

The Chief Minister called on the relevant authorities to expedite the process of granting minority recognition to safeguard the interests of the institute and the broader community it serves.
