Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry – Ladies Organisation (FICCI FLO), organised the ‘Jammu Half Marathon’ on Sunday to raise awareness about drug abuse. The event was flagged off by IGP Bhim Singh Tuti and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the youth.
IGP Tuti said the marathon is being conducted in four phases, with the goal of spreading the message against drug abuse to every household and community. He further announced that all registration proceeds from the event would be donated to the drug rehabilitation centre operated by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Speaking to the media, IGP Tuti stated, “This marathon, organised jointly by J&K Police and FICCI FLO, is being held in four stages. Through such sports initiatives in collaboration with civil society, we aim to ensure that the campaign against drug abuse reaches every section of society.”
FICCI FLO J&K President Arti Chaudhuri highlighted that the initiative seeks to educate youth and families about the harmful effects of drugs while promoting support for rehabilitation efforts.
“FICCI FLO J&K, in partnership with the J&K Police, has organised this marathon titled ‘Run for Health 3.0’. Our primary aim is to spread awareness and reinforce the message that the menace of drug abuse must be eradicated from society. We are committed to reaching as many people as possible, reminding families and communities to help those affected find a path to recovery,” Chaudhuri added.
