Jammu: The police on Wednesday cracked an online heroin supply network with the arrest of a peddler in Udhampur district, officials said.
During routine checks at Jakheni, a police team intercepted the accused, identified as Arif Hussain, a resident of Doda, and recovered heroin from his possession.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Hussain was running a heroin supply operation by providing customers with precise delivery locations and receiving payments directly into his bank account, a tactic aimed at evading conventional tracking methods, officials said.
Authorities have launched a probe to dismantle the entire online heroin network, and further arrests are expected.
The police also urged the public to report any information about such networks to their nearest police station.
