JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday searched bookshops across Poonch district in an effort to seize 25 books banned by the Lieutenant Governor’s administration in the Union Territory.

A police officer said the operation followed directions for the forfeiture of books identified as promoting false narratives and secessionist content.

However, after extensive searches at multiple locations, no banned books were found at any of the inspected premises, the officer added.
