J&K Rains: CM Omar Abdullah Urges Rapid Restoration of Essential Services

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday ordered measures to strengthen vulnerable areas, evacuate residents from flood-affected villages, and maintain 24/7 monitoring amid the ongoing flood situation in the valley.

During a meeting on the post-flood scenario, the chief minister also emphasized the swift restoration of essential services, including electricity, water supply, and road connectivity in the affected regions.

“Chief Minister chaired a meeting this morning on the post-flood situation and directed reinforcement of vulnerable spots, evacuation of people from inundated villages, round-the-clock monitoring via control rooms, frequent inspections of affected areas, and timely advisories urging residents to stay alert, avoid panic, and cooperate with the administration,” the CM’s office said on X.

Several parts of Jammu and Kashmir continue to experience flooding following heavy and continuous rainfall.
