RAMBAN: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) in collaboration with the District administration FIEO, DGFT, State Bank of India and organized a one-day workshop at Conference Hall District Administrative complex Ramban for new and existing exporters from Ramban district.
The Chief Planning Officer, Ramban, Dr. Kasturi Lal chaired the export awareness workshop and gave his input on how Ramban can become a district as an export hub.
The intent of the workshop was to impart knowledge about various Exports related Government schemes, awareness regarding various financial and insurance assistance for exporters and information regarding compliance, documentation required to get an IEC number for exports.
Along with this ONDC was also present to onboard manufacturers and producers on to their platform. This would help the manufacturers to sell their products to customers across India through their platform.
The Deputy Director, DGFT, AK Bhushan, stated that the producers and manufacturers from the district so far have been selling their products in the domestic market and this workshop gives them an idea to think beyond the boundary and reach out to international customers.
He encouraged artisans, farmers by lending support by not just applying for the Import Export Code, but to start exporting on ground level.
Vinay Sharma, while interacting with the participating dilates shared various key important services, initiatives taken by FIEO for the promotion of exports from the country.
He further added that, FIEO organizes more than 50 International Trade Exhibitions all across the world covering all kinds of products such as Auto-components, hand tools apparels, textiles, food products, pharma, ayurveda etc.
The FIEO also organizes various Business Delegations to various trading blocks or countries to promote India’s exports. For the constitution of India’s Foreign Trade Policy, FIEO works very closely with the Government of India.
FIEO also takes up exporters’ important issues with departments like Customs, GST, DGFT, and Banks through various Joint Working Groups or Committees at state and national Level for favourable outcomes.
During the onboarding drive, Vice President of Sales at MyStore Banu Partap Singh, , the ONDC seller partner, highlighted the benefits and functionality of the platform. He also announced that J&K-based sellers would not be charged any on boarding or subscription fees. The ONDC platform is currently operational in 236 cities across India, including Jammu and Kashmir.
Manager, JKTPO Aditya Chuni stated that “This workshop is part of a series of planned events to encourage entrepreneurs to explore the international market and e-commerce platforms and to register with JKTPO.”
The workshop received an overwhelming response from sellers and entrepreneurs from Ramban and about 140 people participated in today’s workshop. The representatives FIEO, DGFT and SBI presented the schemes and benefits available for exporters and addressed the queries of participants.
